Office Efficiencies (India) Pvt. Ltd. recently released a new version for their popular content filtering proxy server software, SafeSquid.

SafeSquid 4.2.2.RC9.3 incorporates some key improvements, and corrections. They can have a dramatic improvement in overall performance, in terms of stability and throughput.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Enhancements:
1) SafeSquid now allows complete tcp tuning.
2) Content caching now takes preventive action when the caching parameters are ill configured.
3) Optimisations have been introduced to allow use of libhoard
4) The init script has also been optimised for invoking libkeepalive

Bugfixes:
1) Data transferred in the CONNECT requests is now recorded in both
Access & Extended Logs
2) The linking mechanism to libgmp library has been modified
3) The algorithm for detecting the DDoS attacks was modified
4) Behaviour to timeout directives in the General Section modified
5) Init script further improved
6) Install script has been fixed to ensure upgrades do not overwrite without approval
